Arsenal's right-back, Takehiro Tomiyasu, has officially signed a new contract with the club.

The new contract for the 25-year-old Japanese footballer with the Gunners is valid until June 2026. Additionally, the contract includes an automatic renewal option for another season. Tomiyasu's previous contract with the London club was set to expire next summer.

In the current season, Tomiyasu has played 20 matches across all competitions, scoring 1 goal and providing 3 assists. Since early February, the Japanese defender has been sidelined due to a knee injury.

Tomiyasu joined Arsenal in the summer of 2021 from Bologna for €18.6 million. Before that, he played in Belgium for Saint-Truiden, and in his homeland, he represented Avispa Fukuoka.

In total, Tomiyasu has already played 73 matches for Arsenal, scoring 1 goal and providing 6 assists.
