Arsenal and England national team goalkeeper to continue career with Premier League newcomer
England goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale, having lost his starting position at Arsenal to David Raya last season, was actively seeking a new club this summer.
According to Fabrizio Romano, Ramsdale has finally found a new team and will continue playing in the Premier League. Negotiations between Arsenal and Southampton regarding Ramsdale's transfer are now in the final stages. It is expected to be a loan deal with an obligation to buy if Southampton remains in the Premier League.
Additionally, it is reported that as soon as Ramsdale's departure is finalized, Arsenal will complete the signing of Espanyol goalkeeper Joan Garcia, who will become the new backup for Raya.
Last season, Ramsdale only played six Premier League matches for Arsenal, with a total of 89 appearances for the Gunners overall.
In the opening two rounds of the Premier League, Southampton failed to earn any points. Last season, the Saints were competing in the Championship.
