Arsenal and Chelsea are impressed by the leader of Sporting, but it’s hard to buy him in the winter

Both Arsenal and Chelsea have set their sights on Sporting's forward, Victor Gyökeres, according to Caughtoffside.

However, securing his transfer in the winter transfer window will prove to be quite challenging. The player's contract stipulates a release clause of €100 million, a significant amount that any interested parties would have to pay to acquire the player in January. It seems unlikely that clubs will be willing to invest such a sum during the winter window.

Gyökeres moved to Sporting from Coventry in the summer, making the Portuguese club reluctant to release their key player at this time. The Portuguese side invested €20 million in acquiring the newcomer.

Throughout the current season, the 25-year-old Swedish striker has scored 15 goals and provided seven assists in 18 matches across all competitions. On average, he scores a goal every 97 minutes.

Prior to his move to Portugal, Diekeresh played for Coventry, Brighton, Swansea, and St. Pauli. He truly flourished as a forward at Coventry, scoring 41 goals in the Championship.
