Arne Slot predicted a Liverpool comeback against PSG
Atletico Madrid head coach Diego Simeone delivered a sharply ironic remark during the press conference ahead of tomorrow’s Champions League quarter-final clash against Barcelona.
Details: Holding a comfortable 2–0 advantage from the first leg, the Argentine tactician made it clear he has no intention of engaging in open, attacking football.
When asked by a journalist how his team plans to deal with Barcelona’s famous offside traps, Simeone responded with trademark bluntness:
“Barcelona’s offside traps won’t work against us because we simply won’t attack,” said Simeone.
The remark drew laughter in the room, but, as is often the case with Simeone, there is a very real tactical blueprint behind the humor. Once again, he reinforced his reputation as a master of pragmatic football.
It should be noted that kick-off is scheduled for tomorrow, April 14 at 21:00 Central European Time.
Reminder: Dominik Szoboszlai is unhappy with the postponement of PSG's match ahead of the meeting with Liverpool.
