Liverpool's head coach Arne Slot has spoken out about the horrifying incident that occurred during the club's championship parade, reports the Daily Mail. On that day, a car plowed into a crowd, injuring dozens of people.

As a sign of solidarity with the victims, Slot decided not to attend the annual League Managers Association (LMA) awards ceremony. Instead, he delivered an emotional statement addressed to the team's supporters.

"As you will know, a shocking incident took place in Liverpool yesterday, one that left dozens of men, women and children who had attended our parade injured, and as a result I have had to withdraw from the event out of solidarity with all affected. This is not a decision I have taken lightly but it is one that I feel is absolutely right given the seriousness of the situation. I hope that I have your understanding in this regard," Slot said.

It is reported that 65 people were injured. Eleven of them remain in hospital, but are recovering. In connection with the incident, a 53-year-old man was arrested.

It is worth noting that at the awards, Slot claimed two top honors: he was named Premier League Manager of the Season and LMA Manager of the Year.
