Arne Slot announces major changes at Liverpool after contract extensions with Van Dijk and Salah

Liverpool has completed crucial steps in preparation for the summer transfer window by extending contracts with key players Virgil van Dijk and Mohamed Salah.

Dutch coach Arne Slot is confident that the contract extensions with the club's two stars are already a significant step towards the upcoming summer transfers. Van Dijk, who is already 33, and Salah have signed new agreements that extend their stay at the club for another two years. This marked an important milestone after lengthy negotiations.

According to Slot, with players like Van Dijk and Salah retained, the club's transfer activity has already begun. He also hinted at a major squad strengthening this summer. "We will have a lot of changes this summer. It was an important event—could we keep them? And now we've already retained two players, and that's a big step. Let's see what the rest of the summer brings," noted the coach.

Meanwhile, the coach expressed gratitude to Sporting Director Richard Hughes for successfully concluding contract negotiations with Van Dijk and Salah. "First of all, he deserves praise for bringing these deals to a close. Many said we were making many mistakes, but in the end, we got what we wanted," added Slot.
