Arda Turan appointed as head coach of Ukrainian giants Shakhtar Donetsk

Ukrainian club Shakhtar Donetsk has made its choice for the future head coach—and it’s none other than the legendary Turkish footballer.
Details: The Ukrainian side officially announced that Arda Turan is taking over as the new manager. His contract runs until the summer of 2027, making him the 39th head coach in Shakhtar's storied history.
Quote: "I am proud to join Shakhtar—a great club with a rich history and strong traditions. This is a team renowned across Europe, with the ambition to win every match.
I hope to contribute to the club’s legacy and bring our fans many joyful moments through our football. We are driven by a huge desire to win trophies—both in Ukraine and in European competitions," said Arda Turan.
Reminder: Napoli made an offer of over €35 million for Georgiy Sudakov, but Shakhtar insists on a higher fee and refuses to approve the transfer.
