English Premier League 2024/25: what to know about the tournament?
This marks the 33rd edition of the Premier League. The new season's schedule was released on June 18, 2024. The two-week winter break, which had been in place since the 2019-20 season, has been abolished in favor of a longer summer break for players. Additionally, longer intervals between matches have been introduced for the festive period between Christmas and New Year.
This season will be the first to utilize semi-automated offside technology, as Premier League clubs unanimously agreed to its implementation. The technology will be ready for deployment after one of the autumn international breaks.
The league features twenty teams: seventeen from the previous season and three promoted from the Championship. Luton Town, Burnley, and Sheffield United were relegated from the Premier League last season, while Leicester, Southampton, and Ipswich Town have been promoted.
