The Netherlands may skip the World Cup due to political factors.

It is reported that local residents have gathered more than 170,000 signatures on a petition calling for a boycott of the upcoming World Cup due to US President Donald Trump's policies.
"By participating in the World Cup, we legitimize this regime. We do not want our footballers to indirectly support President Donald Trump's violent policies towards migrants through their participation.
Taking part in a sporting event right now, as if nothing is happening, legitimizes Trump's expansionist agenda," the petition states.
At the moment, there has been no official response from the Royal Dutch Football Association or the country's authorities regarding this petition. However, if the situation continues to escalate, it is quite possible that we may not see the Netherlands at the World Cup.
