Another scandal erupts! Top Premier League executive under investigation for sexual offences
One of the prominent executives of an English Premier League club has become the subject of a police investigation on suspicion of committing sexual offences.
Details: The case has been referred to the specialized RASSO unit (Rape and Serious Sexual Offences), which investigates rape and serious sexual crimes. According to police, the investigation concerns the alleged sexual exploitation of underage girls, one of whom was 15 at the time of the alleged incidents. Authorities are also examining information related to the possible creation and distribution of indecent images.
Despite the ongoing investigation, the man continues to work in the top tier of English football. The probe is being conducted by London's Metropolitan Police. In accordance with UK law, the individual's name will not be disclosed unless and until official charges are filed.
It is reported that the alleged offences may have occurred several years ago in various areas across the southeast of England and are not connected to the man’s professional football activities.
"In November, police received a report regarding the alleged creation of indecent images and sexual exploitation. Initial investigative actions are currently underway. No arrests have been made," the Metropolitan Police statement reads.
