Another loan. Borussia Dortmund has announced the transfer of Chelsea talent

Borussia Dortmund has officially announced the loan transfer of left-back Ian Maatsen from Chelsea.

The Dutch footballer will play for the German club until the end of the season. As reported by Fabrizio Romano, before the transfer, he extended his contract with Chelsea until the summer of 2027, incorporating a clause into the agreement.

This marks Maatsen's fourth loan spell in his career, having previously been loaned to Charlton, Coventry, and Burnley by Chelsea. In the previous season, he played a crucial role for Burnley, winning the Championship and securing promotion to the Premier League.

In the current season, Maatsen has appeared in 15 matches for the London club but has not registered any goal contributions.

As a reminder, Borussia Dortmund recently brought Jadon Sancho back to the club on a loan basis.
