Real Madrid has announced another setback for defender Ferland Mendy, who had only just returned to the pitch following his previous injury.

Details: The club’s official statement confirmed that the “Los Blancos” defender Ferland Mendy has suffered a muscle injury and will definitely be out for the remainder of 2025.

The club released an official medical report:

“Following the examinations, Ferland Mendy has been diagnosed with a muscle injury to the biceps femoris of his right thigh. His recovery will be monitored.”

As a result, Mendy will miss all remaining matches in 2025, with the timeline for his return to be determined after further examination and treatment. This is not the first serious injury for the French defender in recent seasons. Previously, Mendy missed six months after suffering an injury at the end of April this year.

This season, the French full-back has made just one appearance for Los Blancos, playing the full 90 minutes in a Champions League clash against Greek side Olympiacos (4-3).

Reminder: Real Madrid’s next match could be decisive for head coach Xabi Alonso.
