Leicester, which is aiming for a return to the English Premier League at the end of the season, could face punishment for breaching Financial Fair Play rules, as reported by Sky Sports.

Over the past three years, Leicester's losses will amount to an acceptable 105 million euros. This could lead to point deductions for the club. However, sanctions are not expected to be imposed on the Foxes this season but rather in the following one.

Recall that for similar reasons, Everton and Nottingham Forest were docked 4 points each in the current Premier League season. Initially, Everton was deducted a hefty 10 points, but the punishment was later reduced.

After 38 Championship rounds, Leicester is in second place, narrowly behind Leeds on additional criteria, with one game in hand. Ipswich is trailing Leicester by just 1 point.

Leicester was relegated to the Championship at the end of the previous Premier League season.
