Another contender. Liverpool contacts Florian Wirtz's camp

Florian Wirtz appears poised to leave Bayer Leverkusen at the end of the current season, and a host of top clubs are already in the race for his signature. Now, another heavyweight has joined the fray.
Details: According to The Athletic, Liverpool have reached out to the German midfielder’s entourage and expressed their interest in a transfer. The Merseyside club have been closely monitoring Wirtz for quite some time and are eager to bolster their squad with his addition. However, it remains unclear whether Florian himself is ready to leave Germany.
If the player does decide to seek a new challenge abroad, Liverpool will be among the clubs ready to battle for the talented playmaker.
This season, Wirtz has scored 16 goals and provided 15 assists in 44 appearances for Bayer.
Earlier reports stated that Bayer granted Manchester City permission to open talks with the 22-year-old midfielder. Wirtz and his family have reportedly already flown to England to hold negotiations.
Reminder: Bayern Munich are also pushing hard for the transfer and hope to hijack the move from Manchester City. But the final decision still rests with the player.
