London's Chelsea risks losing another of its superstars following Marc Cucurella, whose move to the Santiago Bernabéu is already virtually agreed.
Details: According to Ben Jacobs, Argentine midfielder Enzo Fernandez is eager to join his Spanish teammate at Real Madrid. Reports indicate that the World Cup winner with Argentina has stopped hiding his dissatisfaction with the current state of affairs at the London club and is openly telling those around him about his desire to move on this summer.
Chelsea's management remains completely calm about the situation, protected by the player's long-term contract, but they are not going to force the Argentine to stay against his will. As announced last month, the Blues have set a fixed price tag of £120 million for Fernandez.
For Real Madrid, this transfer is far from a done deal. Right now, the hierarchy at Los Blancos, led by José Mourinho, are engaged in intense internal discussions. Madrid's decision-makers are trying to finalize the exact profile and characteristics of the midfielder needed to achieve perfect balance in the center of the pitch. In addition to Enzo, the club's management is actively considering other alternatives.
Currently, Real's shortlist for the central midfield position includes two other high-profile names—Mateus Fernandes and Manchester City’s star defensive midfielder Rodri.
Reminder: Chelsea legend John Terry tried to buy Colchester.
