Girona is set to sign an experienced goalkeeper who will undoubtedly bolster the team’s fight for survival in La Liga.
Details: According to Fabrizio Romano on his X social media page, Girona is close to securing the loan of Barcelona’s 33-year-old goalkeeper Marc-André ter Stegen.
The loan agreement is expected to run until the end of the season and will not include a buyout option. At present, the parties are ironing out the final contractual details, and all documents are set to be signed officially very soon.

Ter Stegen is delighted with the move, as it offers him the prospect of regular first-team football after a fallout with Hansi Flick and a series of injuries, which led Barcelona to indicate that he would serve only as backup to Joan García.
This season, Ter Stegen has made just one appearance for Barcelona, in the Copa del Rey clash against Guadalajara.
Ter Stegen’s current contract with Barcelona runs until 2028, and his market value is estimated at 7 million euros by Transfermarkt.
