The Blaugrana coaching staff is in urgent need of reinforcing the heart of defense after the Uruguayan failed to live up to expectations.

Details: According to El Nacional, Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick has decided not to give 26-year-old Uruguayan defender Ronald Araújo any more chances in the team.

Reports indicate that Flick has been deeply disappointed with Araújo’s poor performances and his ongoing psychological instability.

Araújo returned to the pitch in the Spanish Super Cup final after nearly two months out due to mental health issues, but according to sources, Barcelona's coaching staff has asked the club's management to begin searching for a new central defender. The current options—Cubarsí, García, and Gerard Martín—are deemed insufficient to achieve the club’s ambitious goals, and Ronald Araújo is no longer considered a first-team player.

Alongside Flick, Barcelona sporting director Deco is also convinced that Araújo should leave.

Araújo’s current contract with Barcelona runs until 2031, and his market value is estimated at €25 million by Transfermarkt.

This season, Araújo has played only 15 matches for Barcelona, scoring 2 goals. He missed two months due to psychological issues triggered by criticism and disappointing performances.

Reminder: Hansi Flick commented on frequent victories over Real Madrid
