Zimbabwe lost their opening match by the same scoreline. The Zimbabweans found the net in the 20th minute and held on to a narrow lead throughout the first half. However, after the break they were unable to contain Egypt. Marmoush levelled the score in the 64th minute, before Salah sealed the win for his national team in stoppage time.
