Ancelotti told the name of the goalkeeper set to occupy Real Madrid's goal in the next match
The head coach of Real Madrid, Carlo Ancelotti, has revealed who will take position between the goalposts in the La Liga match against Alaves.
The manager highlighted his satisfaction with both Andriy Lunin and Kepa Arrizabalaga's form. He trusts both goalkeepers, yet in the match against Alaves, the preference is towards the Spanish goalkeeper.
In the current season, both Lunin and Kepa are contenders for the spot in Real Madrid's goal. Arrizabalaga started the season as the primary goalkeeper, but during his injury, the Ukrainian efficiently filled in and left a positive impression on the club's bosses and coaching staff.
Kepa has guarded Real's goal in 14 matches, keeping a clean sheet in six of them, while Lunin has appeared in nine games, maintaining four clean sheets.
It's worth noting that Real Madrid's main goalkeeper, Thibaut Courtois, hasn't played this season due to a severe injury and is expected to return after Euro 2024.
Real Madrid will face Alaves on Thursday, December 21st. The match kicks off at 21:30 Central European Time.
Ancelotti's team occupies the second position in the La Liga table after 17 rounds, trailing Girona by nine points.
