Ancelotti deems Vinícius suspension unfair: his reasoning explained
La Liga has officially sanctioned Vinícius Júnior for his conduct in the match against Valencia, but Real Madrid head coach Carlo Ancelotti believes the punishment is unjust.
Details: Ahead of the Spanish Super Cup match against Mallorca, Ancelotti expressed his disagreement with the suspension. The Italian coach argued that Vinícius endures significant verbal abuse, making the decision to suspend him unfair.
Quote: "Suspending Vini for two matches is unjust. I hear all the insults and everything he endures… it’s not right. I’m tired of this because, when people discuss Vini's behavior, they forget all the insults and everything else that happens to him," Ancelotti stated.
Vinícius will miss Real Madrid’s next two La Liga matches and has been fined €700.
Despite the suspension, Vinícius will be available for Real Madrid’s Spanish Super Cup match against Mallorca, scheduled for Thursday, January 9. However, he will be unavailable for the games against Las Palmas and Real Valladolid.
Reminder. After the match against Valencia, Real Madrid's head coach Carlo Ancelotti stated that he disagreed with Vinícius' red card and that the club intended to file an appeal against the referee’s decision.
