In a rescheduled La Liga match from Round 12, Real Madrid secured a 2-1 victory away at Valencia. However, Vinícius Jr. was shown a red card during the game, and the league has now issued its punishment.
Details: The Brazilian forward was sent off for pushing Valencia goalkeeper Stole Dimitrievski in the neck. It has been officially confirmed that Vinícius will miss the next two La Liga matches due to suspension. Additionally, the player has been fined €700, while Real Madrid received a €600 fine.
Despite the suspension, Vinícius will be available for Real Madrid’s Spanish Super Cup match against Mallorca, scheduled for Thursday, January 9. However, he will be unavailable for the games against Las Palmas and Real Valladolid.
Reminder. After the match against Valencia, Real Madrid's head coach Carlo Ancelotti stated that he disagreed with Vinícius' red card and that the club intended to file an appeal against the referee’s decision.
