Real Madrid's head coach, Carlo Ancelotti, revealed that the club won't be seeking to sign a new central defender in January, despite the challenges in that position.

“I can repeat that once again. We will not sign new centre back in January” quotes Anchelotti journalist Fabrizio Romano.

Earlier reports suggested that the club would enter the transfer market in search of a center-back due to the prolonged absence of key defenders David Alaba and Eder Militao.

The Madrid club currently leads La Liga's table after 18 rounds. Ancelotti's team has accumulated the same points as Girona, but the Whites hold the edge over their nearest pursuers due to a superior goal difference. On Wednesday, January 3rd, Real Madrid will host Mallorca in the 19th round of the Spanish championship.

On January 2nd, two crucial players for Real Madrid fully recovered from their injuries and resumed full training sessions.
