AC Milan has struggled to find their rhythm this season, currently sitting in 8th place in the Serie A standings with 14 points and one game in hand.

Italian newspaper La Gazzetta dello Sport has highlighted five players on Milan’s roster who particularly disappointing so far this season.

Details: Given Milan’s defensive struggles, with 11 goals conceded in nine matches, it's no surprise that four defenders top this list. Malick Thiaw, Fikayo Tomori, Theo Hernandez, and Emerson Royal have all recorded player ratings averaging below six out of 10 on Gazzetta’s scale.

Thiaw, with only four Serie A appearances, ranks the lowest with an average rating of 5.38. Emerson Royal and Tomori aren’t far ahead, holding average ratings of 5.44 and 5.66, respectively.

Also on the list is Ruben Loftus-Cheek (average rating 5.7), who is yet to record a goal or an assist for the Rossoneri in Serie A this season.

Recall: Milan’s crisis seems to be deepening. They have suffered two losses in their last five Serie A matches, including a 0-2 defeat to Napoli.

Lately, Rafael Leão, one of Milan’s key players, lost his spot in the starting lineup. Head coach Paulo Fonseca insists there is no conflict between them, although club legends have advised the Portuguese coach to avoid any potential standoff.
