Al Hilal CEO Esteve Calzada has revealed that the Saudi powerhouse dreams of one day earning the chance to compete in the UEFA Champions League. According to the Spanish executive, the club is ready to go toe-to-toe with Europe's elite and has already proven its mettle on the international stage.
This is a club with colossal expectations. Here, winning isn't just a goal—it's an obligation. The pressure is just as intense as in Europe: you have to deliver results and win. Never say never. We would absolutely love to have that opportunity. We want to face the world's best clubs more often, showcase our level, and strengthen our brand on the global stage," the executive told AS in an interview.
It's worth noting that Calzada, who previously worked at Barcelona and Manchester City, has been at the helm of Al Hilal for the past two years. He describes the Riyadh project as one of the most ambitious in world football, and believes its financial muscle is on par with the top twenty European clubs.
