An awkward conversation is brewing. Flick wants to meet with ter Stegen
Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick has cut his vacation short to arrive in the Catalan capital as early as possible and kick off preparations for the new season. The Blaugrana boss also has some matters he wants to address personally with his players.
Details: According to Mundo Deportivo, the German coach has already established his goalkeeper hierarchy for the upcoming campaign. Out of the four available shot-stoppers, Flick plans to rely on two: Joan Garcia as his first choice and Wojciech Szczęsny as the backup.
At the same time, the Barcelona manager is looking to meet with Marc-André ter Stegen in the coming days to explain the situation to him, making it clear there is no place for him in the squad. The German and his entourage continue to insist that they have no intention of leaving the club and are ready to fight for a starting spot.
Reminder: Earlier, the Polish veteran extended his contract with Barcelona until 2027, by which time he will be 37 years old.
