An alternative candidate for Bayern is known if negotiations with Xabi Alonso fall through

Bayern Munich is in the process of searching for a new head coach to replace Thomas Tuchel, who will be leaving the club in the summer.

The preferred option for the Bavarian powerhouse is Bayer's coach, Xabi Alonso. Earlier reports suggested that Bayern is prepared to offer a significant financial package to lure the Spanish tactician away from his current position.

However, the Munich club also has a backup plan in case negotiations with Alonso fail to materialize. According to journalist Florian Plettenberg, one of the coaches being discussed as a possible alternative to Alonso is Brighton's Roberto De Zerbi.

Previously, there were reports in the media that Barcelona is interested in inviting the Italian specialist, who is also seeking a replacement for their current manager, Xavi Hernandez. The release clause specified in the Italian's contract with Brighton has also been disclosed.

Bayern Munich currently occupies the second position in the Bundesliga. Tuchel's team is trailing behind Bayer by eight points.
