Manchester United’s victory over Leicester in the FA Cup fourth-round clash has sparked major controversy, as the Red Devils’ second goal was scored from an offside position and should not have stood. Manager Rúben Amorim did not engage in debates and acknowledged the refereeing mistake.

Details: The Portuguese coach admitted that Maguire’s goal was indeed offside and stated that if VAR had been available at this stage of the competition, the error would not have occurred.

Quote: "The goal was offside. We should have VAR. VAR should be here to overturn the decision. It’s tough for the opponent, it’s tough for Ruud," said Amorim.

Reminder: The fourth round is the last stage of the FA Cup where VAR is not in use. From the fifth round (last 16) onwards, video assistant referees will be available in all matches. Since the system's introduction in 2018, VAR has been used at all stages, but only when the host team was a Premier League club.
