AmaZulu beats fellow Kwa-Zulu Natal rivals Richards Bay to jump to the fourth spot in the Betway Premiership standings as they aim for a second spot

Hendrik Ekstein scored inside the last 10 minutes against Richards Bay FC in the Betway Premiership to seal AmaZulu’s victory this evening.

Usuthu took the lead three minutes before the half hour mark in the first half via Thabiso Kutumela but midfield livewire Sanele Barns equalised for Richards Bay.

Seemingly dead and buried, heading for a draw at Moses Mabhida Stadium, AmaZulu’s Ekstein netted eight minutes before full time to seal the win the Arthur Zwane’s men.

The victory sees the Durban side climb to the fourth spot on the standings while Richards Bay, a Kwa-Zulu Natal side also, remain on the 12th spot.

This win will also be a reprieve for coach Arthur Zwane after his side were knocked out of the Nedbank Cup, a week ago today, at the same venue by NFD side, Casric Stars.

It’s a known fact that Usuthu’s aim is a top three finish and this win against Richards Bay will surely revive and keep that goal alive.
