The analytical portal WhoScored has published astonishing statistics regarding the goalkeepers of the English Premier League this season, based on the percentage of shots saved.

It's hard to believe, but the lowest percentage in the league belongs to Manchester City's primary goalkeeper and the champions of England, Ederson. However, he is not the only representative of a top club in the bottom five. The fourth-lowest percentage belongs to Arsenal's goalkeeper, David Raya.

The lowest save percentages in the English Premier League are as follows

  • 57.8% - Ederson (Manchester City)
  • 59.4% - Sam Johnstone (Crystal Palace)
  • 61.7% - Jose Sa (Wolverhampton)
  • 62.3% - David Raya (Arsenal)
  • 62.7% - James Trafford (Burnley)

According to analysts, this once again highlights that coaches of top clubs place significant emphasis on a goalkeeper's ability to play with their feet, sometimes at the expense of other important metrics.

In 27 matches of the current Premier League season, Ederson has conceded 25 goals and kept 9 clean sheets.
