The team set to complete Group I alongside Senegal, France and Norway has been decided following the intercontinental play-off final played at the Estadio BBVA on Tuesday 31 March.
Pape Thiaw’s side now knows its three opponents at the 2026 World Cup, which will be jointly hosted by the United States, Canada and Mexico from 11 June to 19 July. The intercontinental play-off final between Iraq and Bolivia, played on Tuesday 31 March at the Estadio BBVA in Guadalupe, was won by Iraq.
This victory means the Iraqi team will join Group I for the 2026 World Cup. This group now comprises Senegal, France, Norway and Iraq.
