Not everyone has the means to buy tickets, and CAN organizers understand this.
Details: According to L'Équipe, today the CAN 2025 organizing committee officially approved a decision to allow free entry for fans at tournament matches if there aren’t enough spectators in the stands.
It is reported that free admission will be possible 20 minutes after the start of the match, and only for games where the stands remain unfilled.
Previously, organizers had occasionally allowed fans in for free, but while this used to be an exception, it is now a direct order from the organizing committee.
During the Egypt vs Zimbabwe, Cameroon vs Gabon, and Algeria vs Sudan matches, the stadiums were nearly empty due to a lack of fans. However, after free entry was granted, the stands were packed by the end of the game.
