Saudi club Al-Ittihad and New Zealand's Auckland City kicked off the game schedule for the Club World Cup-2023. The Round of 16 match took place at the King Abdullah Sports City Stadium in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.

Al-Ittihad, fielding renowned players like Karim Benzema, N'Golo Kanté, and Fabinho, secured a dominant victory over their opponents with a scoreline of 3-0.

The outcome of the match was clear-cut even before the halftime whistle: Al-Ittihad, the Saudi team, found the net three times against their opponents. Romarinho, Kanté, and Benzema each managed to beat the New Zealand team's goalkeeper. The second half of the game, essentially a formality, didn't see any more goals for the spectators.

It's worth noting that Benzema became the first player in Club World Cup history to score in four different tournaments.

Al-Ittihad advances to the quarterfinals of the tournament, where they'll face Egypt's Al-Ahly. In the second quarterfinal, Mexican side León will take on Japan's Urawa Red Diamonds. Both matches are scheduled for December 15th. The final and third-place playoff of the Club World Cup are set for December 22nd.
