The new season in England has officially begun. Manchester City defeated Manchester United in the Community Shield match. The teams couldn't determine a winner in regular time, but in the penalty shootout, Pep Guardiola's team came out on top.
Despite the "Citizens" winning, Manchester United winger Alejandro Garnacho was named the best player of the match by Dailysports. The Argentine came on only in the second half but managed to inject fresh energy into his team's attack.
In the short time he spent on the field, Garnacho made one tackle and one key pass. He scored his team's only goal with a brilliant strike following impressive individual play. He also successfully converted his shot in the penalty shootout.
It's worth noting that Manchester United missed the chance to win the Community Shield for the first time since 2016. At Old Trafford, there are high hopes for the new Premier League season, which will kick off for the "Red Devils" on Friday, August 16, with a home match against Fulham.
