Now Mikel needs to recover as quickly as possible.
Details: In today’s friendly against Peru, 29-year-old Spain and Real Sociedad forward Mikel Oyarzabal was forced to leave the pitch early due to an injury.
Oyarzabal was substituted at halftime after landing awkwardly on his foot during an aerial challenge with a Peruvian defender in the first half.
After a brief consultation, the “La Roja” medical staff decided not to risk the Spaniard’s health and replaced him with Yeremy Pino. However, Oyarzabal will now have to undergo further medical examinations. If the injury turns out to be more serious than initially expected, he is at risk of missing at least the start of the World Cup, which kicks off in just two days.
This season, Oyarzabal has played 40 matches at club level, scoring 18 goals and providing 4 assists.
