The legendary Spanish goalkeeper has answered a truly intriguing question.
Details: In a recent interview, the 45-year-old former Spain and Real Madrid goalkeeper Iker Casillas was asked which opponent posed a greater challenge: Messi or Cristiano Ronaldo?
Throughout his career, Casillas faced both superstars, yet for him, only one stands out as the toughest:
"I never had to play against Cristiano at club level, although I did face him with the Portugal national team. But I think it was tougher against Messi," Casillas admitted.
Iker Casillas spent over 16 years at Real Madrid. He began his journey back in 1999 and left the club only in 2015, moving to Porto. Casillas played 725 matches for Real Madrid, conceding 751 goals and keeping 259 clean sheets.
In August 2020, Casillas announced his retirement from professional football.
