Raphinha could be sidelined for an extended period.
Details: Following yesterday's loss to France in a friendly, Brazil head coach Carlo Ancelotti addressed his decision to substitute one of the team's key players, Raphinha, after the first half.
According to Ancelotti, the substitution was forced:
"Raphinha was playing well… but then he felt a muscle problem."
At this moment, there’s no official diagnosis from Brazil’s medical staff. However, with just over two months left before the World Cup, any aggravation of the injury could prove fatal for Raphinha’s hopes of playing in the tournament.
He is currently undergoing further medical tests, after which more information on the nature of his injury and a recovery timeline will be provided.
This season, Raphinha has played 31 matches for Barcelona, scoring 19 goals and providing 8 assists.
Brazil’s next match is scheduled for April 1, when they’ll face Croatia.
