Al Ahly’s Sponsorship Dilemma: El-Khatib Delays Sponsorship Decisions Ahead of Club World Cup

Mahmoud El-Khatib, President of Al Ahly, has postponed making decisions on sponsorship offers received by the club’s football company for the upcoming FIFA Club World Cup, set to take place in the United States from June 15 to July 13, 2025.

Al-Ahly has reportedly already received two bids from Arab businesses to sponsor the team throughout the competition. To optimize the club's gains, El-Khatib is choosing to exercise patience in light of the possible entrance of more lucrative propositions.

The Club World Cup draw, which took place in Miami, put Al Ahly in Group A with Inter Miami, Porto, and Palmeiras. Before the tournament starts, Al Ahly will play in the Challenge Cup, where they will face the winner of the game between Botafogo and Pachuca on December 14.
