The Egyptian Football Association has approved Al Ahly’s request to postpone their League Cup match against ENPPI, originally scheduled for Tuesday, to accommodate the club’s participation in the Intercontinental Cup semifinals.

Al Ahly is scheduled to arrive in Qatar early, where they will play the winner of the semifinal match between Pachuca (Mexico) and Botafogo (Brazil). Al Ahly's continued dedication to representing Egyptian football internationally is demonstrated by the game.

In a statement, the EFA confirmed: “After reviewing Al Ahly’s request and in support of Egyptian clubs participating in continental and international tournaments, we coordinated with ENPPI, who graciously agreed to reschedule the match.”

This adjustment helps Al Ahly avoid fines for withdrawal, as tournament regulations stipulate penalties of up to 5 million EGP for any team that withdraws. Previously, Al Ahly had withdrawn from the League Cup in the last two seasons, citing scheduling conflicts.

ENPPI also issued a statement confirming their cooperation: “Although regulations do not require a postponement, we respect Al Ahly’s role as a representative of Egyptian football and have agreed to the rescheduling.”

Al Ahly defeated Al Ain (UAE) 3-0 to go to the Intercontinental Cup semifinals. The squad will now get ready for their next game, and the victor will face Real Madrid, the European champions, in the final on December 18.
