The Cairo-based club was recently eliminated from the Club World Cup, and now the focus has shifted to shaping their pre-season and laying the groundwork for the next season.
Details: According to Baladna El-Youm, head coach Jose Riveiro has been tasked with determining which goalkeepers will be part of the squad and which young players will be integrated into the team.
Ribeiro will also decide the future of several youth players who spent last season out on loan. This approach marks a new club strategy focused on nurturing homegrown talent.
In July, Al Ahly will officially begin their off-season program and start preparing for the next campaign. The club aims to significantly improve the squad’s physical conditioning and ensure they are fully ready for the challenges of the new season.
Reminder: The former Zamalek manager said it’s difficult to fairly assess a coach like Riveiro based on such a tournament. Moreover, he believes the Spaniard actually did a decent job.
