Al Ahly Continues to Sign Moroccan Stars, Securing Achraf Bencharki on Free Transfer
Al Ahly of Egypt continues to strengthen their squad by signing Moroccan star Achraf Bencharki in free transfer after terminating his contract with Al Rayyan. Bencharki signed two and a half year contract, becoming the 6th Moroccan player in the club’s history.
Al Ahly had previously signed several Moroccan players over the years, such as Walid Azaro in the summer of 2017 from Difaa El Jadidi, Badr Benoun who joined in 2020 from Raja Casablanca, and Reda Slim, who moved from the AS FAR in 2023.
At the start of this season, Al Ahly also secured deals for Moroccan defender Achraf Dari from Brest and loaned left back Yahya Attiat Allah from Russian club FC Sochi.
Bencharki brings back memories of foreign players like Ghanaian Ahmed Felix and Mauritanian Dominique Da Silva, who played for both Al Ahly and Zamalek.
