Ajax and Antony reach agreement in arbitration case over financial matters
Former Ajax player Antony filed a lawsuit against the Amsterdam club, claiming he was unaware of a fine imposed on him. However, the parties managed to reach an agreement.
Details: The Arbitration Committee of the Dutch Football Association issued a ruling after which Ajax and the player's representatives began negotiations. As a result, the parties were able to reach an agreement, although the details of the settlement are not disclosed.
Quote: "Given the positive history between Ajax and the Brazilian forward, all parties involved are pleased that the arbitration process is concluded and they can put this matter behind them," declared Ajax.
Reminder: Ajax fined Antony before his transfer to Manchester United. At that time, the Brazilian missed training and a match for the Amsterdam club, despite not being injured, and the transfer deal was not yet completed.
As a result, Ajax imposed a fine, but the winger found out about it only after the transfer. Antony considered the club's decision "illegal" and valued his claim at several hundred thousand euros.
