Antony sues Ajax: what's the issue?
Antony’s transfer to Manchester United in the summer of 2022 brought Ajax significant financial gain. However, the Brazilian winger now has unresolved financial disputes with his former club.
Details: According to the Daily Mail, citing Dutch media, Antony has filed a complaint with the arbitration committee of the Dutch Football Federation over a fine imposed by Ajax before his move to Manchester United.
The fine was levied after Antony skipped a training session and a match, despite being uninjured and with his transfer not yet finalized. Antony only discovered the penalty after completing his move to England. The winger has called Ajax’s actions "illegal" and is reportedly seeking several hundred thousand euros in compensation.
Although Antony filed the complaint six months ago, hearings only began recently, with decisions in such cases typically issued within a month.
Reminder: Antony is currently rumored to be on the verge of leaving Manchester United. However, he recently rejected an offer from Greek side Olympiacos.
