After more than a decade with the Fennecs, the defender will no longer represent Algeria on the international stage.
It marks the end of an era for the Algerian national team. Following in the footsteps of Riyad Mahrez, Aïssa Mandi is also bringing his international career to a close.
In a video posted on social media, the 34-year-old defender announced his decision. “The time has come for me to say goodbye to you all,” said Aïssa Mandi.
Aïssa Mandi announced his retirement after playing in the 2026 World Cup. For the Algerian national team, Mandi made 122 appearances and scored 8 goals.
