Ahly Fans Give Warm Welcome to Bencharki and Taunt Zamalek

Moroccan forward Achraf Bencharki received a warm reception from Ahly fans during the team’s match against Modern Sport on Sunday at Al Salam Stadium, as part of the Egyptian Premier League’s 11th round.

Ahly secured an important 3-1 victory, raising their tally to 23 points, just one behind league leaders Pyramids. Despite missing the game due to injury, Bencharki attended the match from the stands and greeted the fans on the pitch after the final whistle.

Ahly supporters also took the opportunity to mock Zamalek president Hussein Labib, chanting: “Hussein Labib, let’s hear you! Has the fortress sunk or not yet?”—a reference to his famous claim that Zamalek is Egypt’s biggest sports fortress.

Meanwhile, Emam Ashour was named Man of the Match after scoring two goals in the victory.
