Achraf Bencharki Fires Up Ahead of Club World Cup, Ready for Messi's Challenge

Ahead of the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup, which will take place in the United States from June 15 to July 13, Achraf Bencharki, Al Ahly's rising star, posted an inspiring statement.

On June 15, the Egyptian powerhouse will play Inter Miami, a club that includes football greats Lionel Messi, Luis Suárez, Jordi Alba, and Sergio Busquets, to kick off the championship.

Bencharki just began a new chapter in his career by joining Al Ahly after leaving Qatar's Al Rayyan. He stated in an exclusive interview with the club's official Facebook page that he joined the team because he wanted to play at the greatest level and win championships, especially in the coveted Club World Cup.

"Al Ahly doesn’t need anyone to speak for it. It’s a globally recognized club known for its relentless pursuit of trophies. Any player would dream of wearing its jersey," said Bencharki.

Reflecting on their opening match against Inter Miami, the Moroccan forward noted, "Inter Miami knows Al Ahly’s history well. The truth is that our opponents should be afraid of the moniker Al Ahly. Everyone should appreciate us since this is what makes our team unique.

Bencharki also talked about how he is fortunate to be a part of this brilliant squad and the close relationship he has with other Moroccan players at Al Ahly, such as Achraf Dari, Reda Slim, and Yahya Attiat Allah.

Speaking about the passion of Al Ahly's supporters, Bencharki recalled, “When I first played against Al Ahly with Wydad Casablanca in the CAF Champions League, I felt terrified because the fans are incredibly passionate. We have to make these fans happy.”

Bencharki, who is excited to represent Al Ahly on the international scene, looked forward to his first Club World Cup experience and pledged to do everything in his power to support the team in reaching its objectives.

"I am thrilled to be part of this great club, and my dream is to help write a new chapter of success in Al Ahly's storied history," he stated.
