Ageless. The 39-year-old Modrić has been called up to the Croatian national team

The legendary Real Madrid midfielder Luka Modrić has no plans to retire from the Croatian national team just yet.
Today, the Croatian head coach announced the squad for the first matches of the new Nations League campaign, and Modrić was included.
Meanwhile, another veteran, Marcelo Brozović, has announced his retirement from international football.
Many believed that the Euro 2024 match against Italy, which saw Croatia eliminated from the tournament, would be Modrić's last at the international level. However, the 39-year-old has surprised everyone.
It is likely that Modrić plans to retire from the national team after the 2026 World Cup.
This summer, the iconic midfielder signed a new one-year contract with Real Madrid.
Throughout his career, Modrić has already made 178 appearances for Croatia, scoring 26 goals and providing 29 assists.
On September 5th, Croatia will begin their Nations League campaign with a match against Portugal, followed by a game against Poland three days later.
