In a strong performance, Rangers won 4-1 against Nice in the fifth round of the Europa League group stage. The game marked the comeback of Egyptian defender Mohamed Abdelmonem, who had been out for three games because of an injury.

The first half was difficult for Nice, as Rangers swiftly gained control. Václav Černý scored in the 35th minute with a powerful shot that surprised the goalkeeper. Just two minutes later, Mohamed Diomandé capitalized on an error by Nice captain Pablo Rosario to make it 2-0.

The biggest mistake came in first-half injury time when Abdelmonem misplayed a back-pass to the goalkeeper, allowing Moroccan forward Hamza Ejimani to pounce and score, putting Rangers 3-0 ahead at the break.

In the second half, Diomandé added another goal in the 54th minute to make it 4-0. Nice managed a late consolation goal in the 84th minute when Algerian Badr El-Din Bouanani scored a stunning free kick.

The game ended 4-1 in spite of Bouanani's goal, leaving Nice in second-to-last place in the group with just two points from five games.
