AFCON 2027 qualifiers: Sébastien Desabre set to unveil squad for Sierra Leone double-header
The Democratic Republic of the Congo is preparing to reveal the names of the players selected for the upcoming international break. The Leopards’ manager, Sébastien Desabre, is expected to announce his squad on Friday 6 November, ahead of the double-header against Sierra Leone, which counts towards matchdays three and four of the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
Unlike previous announcements, which were usually made via the official channels of the Congolese Football Association, this new squad is expected to be revealed at a press conference at the headquarters of Congolese football’s governing body.
Top of their group with six points after the first two matchdays, the DR Congo will go into these two fixtures aiming to consolidate their position. The Leopards will first host Sierra Leone at the Stade des Martyrs on 12 November, before travelling away on 17 November for the fourth matchday.
As Sierra Leone does not have a CAF-approved stadium, they are set to host the Democratic Republic of the Congo in Morocco.
