Benin and Botswana will face off on Saturday afternoon at the Stade Olympique de Rabat in a key Group D match at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations. Both teams lost their opening games and are still searching for their first points in Morocco.
Benin come into the game after a narrow 1-0 defeat to DR Congo, despite dominating possession and creating several chances. Under coach Gernot Rohr, the Squirrels showed structure but lacked sharpness in front of goal. Sitting third in the group, Benin know a win is vital before a difficult final game against Senegal.
Botswana also started poorly, losing 3-0 to Senegal. Goalkeeper Goitseone Phoko impressed with several saves, but the Zebras failed to register a shot on target. Bottom of the group, Botswana must improve going forward to stay alive.
