AFCON 2025: Angola and Zimbabwe Settle for 1–1 Draw in Group B
Angola and Zimbabwe played out a 1–1 draw in their Group B encounter at the Stade de Marrakech on Friday, as the AFCON 2025 group stage continued with its second round of matches.
Angola took the lead midway through the first half after Gelson Dala converted from close range, rewarding his side’s positive approach. Zimbabwe refused to back down and were rewarded just before the break, when captain Knowledge Musona struck in first-half stoppage time to bring his team level.
The result leaves both sides still without a win at AFCON 2025. Angola and Zimbabwe each sit on two points after two matches and now trail joint Group B leaders Egypt and South Africa, who were due to face off later the same day.
Both teams will now look ahead to decisive final group fixtures on Monday. Zimbabwe will face South Africa in Marrakech, while Angola are set for a challenging clash against Egypt in Agadir.
